Nature Conservancy of Canada

The Pace Group works with the BC Regional office and provides communications and media relations support for their land stewardship and science based conservation programs. The Pace Group works closely with the Nature Conservancy to develop government partnerships and explore opportunities for funding and community partners. However, the primary focus of our work is media relations, which means building profile in a competitive environment.

Each year, NCC celebrates The Gifts to Canadians on Canada Day. This annual gift to Canadians involves engaging the media to tell the story of a key conservation project. Each June for the past five years, the Pace Group has been successful in convincing media to invest their station’s or newspaper’s time and expenses to travel to the far reaches of British Columbia to tell one specific story. They are joined by NCC conservation leaders and scientists, and the results are often stories of national significance and coverage.

Objectives:

Highlight the work of the NCC, raising its profile and methodology for conserving important pieces of land and wilderness for British Columbians.

Outcomes:

The NCC is recognized as one of the most effective conservation organizations in the province, using its profile and awareness among business and government leaders to successfully implement province-wide initiatives.
