Business Council of British Columbia

When the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC) decided to organize a one-day summit on corporate social responsibility in British Columbia, the Pace Group’s experienced conference management team was brought in to organize the high profile event.

The keynote speakers at the summit were former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Vancouver philanthropist and mining financier Frank Giustra, who answered questions about the importance of corporate responsibility in a panel format before a sold-out luncheon crowd. Their joint project – the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative - is working with the mining sector and other private companies to fund sustainable economies in developing countries.

BCBC represents the 200 largest corporations in British Columbia and the summit’s panel sessions were attended by hundreds of the top business executives in the province.

In addition to being responsible for logistics, media relations and event management, the Pace Group was also the overall coordinator for the summit.

Objectives:

Plan, coordinate and manage a business summit aimed at promoting corporate responsibility within the BC business community.

Outcomes:

The sold out event attracted more than 800 of BC’s top business leaders and received extensive media coverage.
