SURREY REGIONAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT

“Each year the Surrey Regional Economic Summit works to engage both local business and community leaders, as well as thought provoking international speakers, in its search for regional solutions to the challenges and choices we face as one of Canada’s fastest growing regions. The 2008 Summit set the bar, and we’re looking to go even further in 2009 with Tony Blair as our featured speaker.”

Mayor Dianne Watts, City of Surrey
Honourary Chair, Surrey Regional Economic Summit

“I left the 2008 Summit knowing that Surrey and its Board of Trade had found a winning formula. The topics and panelists were impressive, so I’m particularly pleased to be back this year as one of the Honourary Co-Chairs. Like the more than 600 participants who will come together in October, I’m looking forward to hearing Tony Blair’s perspective on today’s economic issues and the leadership that’s needed to move us forward.”

By creating a climate that promotes job-creating investment, Surrey is demonstrating the kind of leadership that’s needed across the region. As a result, this important annual event is attracting considerable attention with its distinguished speakers and high-profile panels. It all adds up to a thought provoking business.”

“If you’re a community or business leader here in Surrey, you really don’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind event. Last year’s success generated a great deal of interest in 2009 and securing Tony Blair, with all of the expertise and experience he brings to the table, means this year’s Summit is a ‘must-not-miss’ event.”

Councillor Linda Hepner, City of Surrey
Co-Chair, Surrey Regional Economic Summit

“Take one look at this part of British Columbia and you can feel the energy that’s been building here over the past few years. I’ve seen that in my own business, and all of us at the Surrey Board of Trade are excited about this year’s Summit. It’s going to be an excellent networking opportunity, and the chance to hear from some of the best in the business.”

Inde Sumal
